The water quality and hygiene in all types of swimming pools with public access are regulated by the rules in the Swimming Pool Executive Order. A swimming pool facility may not be constructed or operated without approval. The rules apply to both indoor and outdoor swimming pools, i.e. artificially constructed swimming pool facilities regardless of design or appearance, when they are accessible to a wider circle of people. Probably best known are the indoor swimming pools, water parks, open-air baths and swimming pools at hotels and campsites as well as at hospitals and institutions. Warm-water pools such as baby pools, spas and the like are also covered by the water quality requirements.
